The Box: A Contemporary Jewelry Challenge

Event Description: The curators of The Box posed a unique challenge to a select group of artists. Take five readymade materials purchased at the dollar store and create three wearable pieces of jewelry. Each artist received a box containing five standard size white envelopes, a small white towel, three white erasers, three CDs, and a can of Diet Coke. The materials were chosen because they are all white and echo a metaphorical blank page. Featured Artists: Joshua Kosker, Bruce Metcalf, Mary Hallam Pearse, Vincent Pontillo-Verrastro, Biba Schutz, Demitra Thomloudis, Aric Verrastro, Tim Veske-McMahon. The Box is curated by Platforma, a contemporary jewelry initiative conceived by Bella Neyman and Ruta Reifen. On view concurrently with Recorded Matter: Ceramics in Motion.
