Event Description: Every year, another set of employment regulations are imposed on your business. Join Asheville business law attorney Michael Palermo for an introduction to the most important employment laws a small-to-medium sized business owner needs to understand. Michael will cover what makes someone an employee versus an independent contractor; what wage and overtime laws apply; workplace safety regulations, such as OSHA and “Right to Know” laws about hazardous substances; and discrimination laws. Cost is $20 to attend one session, or $35 for both.
