Event Description: WCU at Biltmore Park Cost: $99 2.75 PDCs (see below) This half-day training will focus on helping managers and supervisors develop an approach to conducting effective employee evaluations. Participants will learn how to prepare for the evaluation process in advance including developing an approach to ensure the meeting is successful. The instructor, Todd Creasy, has professional and practical experience in operations and human resources, and he will talk about the different types of evaluations and current evaluation trends. He will discuss the coaching process and how this differs from the more traditional approach to conducting an employee evaluation; including, how manager can cater a review to the organization and employee. At the completion of the training, participants will: Understand the employee evaluation process Know the pre-appraisal methodology Be familiar with multiple methods for evaluating employees Utilize the training to practice appraisal techniques Learn about new trends in employee evaluations Agenda for the Day Before You Review – Things to Do “Coaching Discussion” vs. “Employee Evaluation” Review a la carte: Subway sandwiches Orbit Reviews Selfie Coach’s film Anchor Down Practice Before You Play Review techniques in real time Trends in Evaluations Instructor: Dr. Todd Creasy, DM, MBA, MSc, MBB Six Sigma Todd is currently MBA Director and Associate Professor of Management and Project Management at Western Carolina University’s College of Business. Prior to beginning his academic career, his industry experience included serving 3 publicly traded and one private organization at the senior level in human resources and operations management over a span of 20+ years. He has worked as a Master Black Belt in Six Sigma and is a Lean Sensei. He has worked in various industries including healthcare, mining, construction, transportation, and as an entrepreneur before selling his company in 1995. Todd has published in academic journals and industry periodicals; spoken at international conferences and has appeared on the Fox Business Network. Western Carolina University is recognized by SHRM to offer Professional Development Credits (PDCs) for the SHRM-CPSM or SHRM-SCPSM.
